As of the 4th of January, the prevalence survey has kickstarted in Bulawayo! A training in December was held for the 4 field teams that consists of research assistants (40), research nurses (5), laboratory scientists (1) and administration (2). The two-week programme (6-17th December) was directed by key study personnel: Dr. Chido Dziva Chikwari, Ethel Dauya, Nicol Redzo, Constancia Mavodza and Tinashe Mwaturura who delivered trainings on data management, collection of anthropometric measurements, collection of DBS specimens, ethical concerns in research and obtaining written informed consent as well as youth friendliness. For the next three months, the community-based prevalence survey aims to recruit 5600 youth aged 18-24 years in 8 suburbs.
